Calling All First-Generation Faculty and Staff

With our undergraduate student population identifying as "FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENT" quickly approaching 50%, the First Generation Student Engagement Committee is hoping to identify faculty and staff colleagues who are also first-generation college students.

Those who choose to self-identify as "First Gen" may be contacted about participating in some of the exciting programs and events we have planned this year to support our first-generation college students, particularly events sponsored by the First Generation School, Tri-Alpha Honor Society, and the First Generation Student Engagement Committee.

If you are a first-generation college graduate, please  by Friday, October 4. In addition to offering all-campus publicity about programs, services and even professional development opportunities to the general university community, there are some unique ways first-generation faculty and staff can offer support to our students and initiatives, and we are eager to share more with you.

All the best,
Carlos D. Sneed
AVP of Student Affairs/Associate Dean of Students Chair, First Generation Student Engagement Committee
