Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Awarded Minnesota Office of Higher Education Grant

Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK University has received a two-year, $120,000 grant from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. The Intervention for College Attendance Program will give Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK $60,000 a year for two years to support the Piper Academic Community (PAC) students. The program supports low-income students, first-generation college students, and BIPOC students as they transition to college. Students are given opportunities to build community and a sense of belonging through various workshops, an overnight retreat, group advising, and connecting with academic support. Each year the intent is to serve 75-80 students with the grant. This year we have over 90 first-year students who have applied for the program, 70 of whom participated in the fall retreat on October 12-13. This is an opportunity for Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK to more deeply engage underserved students and previous years have shown increased retention rates for the cohort that outpace those of the general student body.
