Family and Friends Weekend
November 8 and 9, 2024
The 2024 Family and Friends Weekend took place on November 8 and 9. Family and Friends Weekend is a time of exploration and fun as you reconnect with your student and meet the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK community! The schedule for the weekend included athletic events, academic panels, a concert by Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK music ensembles, and other family-friendly entertainment.

William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet Ticket sales are both online and at the Anne Simley Theater box office. Online sales begin September 24. Tickets are available 45 minutes prior to the show starting at the Anne Simley Theatre Box office. Tickets are $2 for Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK students, staff, and faculty, $5 for all other students and seniors, and $8 for general admission. William Shakespeare’s long celebrated tragedy of star-crossed lovers. We throw our hats and hearts into the ring, joining generations of artists who, too, have created their versions of Verona’s impetuous and impassioned paramours. Romeo and Juliet, children of feuding families fall in love, hard and fast, caught up in a whirlwind of passion so epic the story resounds for centuries. As quickly as they fall, they are swept up in a tumult of seemingly inescapable misfortune. Come get lost in love with us, as we look to love to tell us who we are and how we belong to each other. |

Start your day with a light continental breakfast before participating in Family Weekend sessions and campus activities that give you a sense of the type of opportunities, services and support your student can take advantage of at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK. There will be ample opportunities to visit with your student as well today. |

Meet the academic and student affairs deans to hear about what your students have been experiencing inside and outside of the classroom. Bring questions you may have about Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK and the experiences your student is having. |
| High-Impact Learning Practices 11 a.m. to noon |
At Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK, faculty members expose students to many High-Impact Learning Educational Practices with the goal of increasing student retention, academic success, while helping students deepen their learning, personal development and post-college preparation. In this session, faculty members and administrators will share insights about the unique opportunities Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK students have to further their knowledge, experiences and skills including writing intensive courses, study away/study abroad opportunities, internships, student-faculty research, and the first year seminar, among others. |

Tri-Alpha Induction Ceremony Reception: 5:30 p.m. |
This event is open to current members, newly selected members and their family and friends. Invitations will be sent in mid-to-late October after membership selection is complete. |
