Emmett Frett, student area coordinator (SAC), is a senior at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK, double majoring in finance and economics. He is new to the SAC position after a year of being a resident assistant (RA) in Sorin Hall. While in Sorin, Emmett established a sense of community and inclusiveness by taking the initiative to get to know his peers on an individual level. Examples of his leadership can be seen through the many positive peer-leader relationships he fostered and his ongoing dedication to making Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
As an SAC, Emmett is responsible for guiding and directing a small resident assistant team, handling policy violations and conduct cases, assisting with RA training and interviewing, maintaining and tracking programming budgets, serving in a weekly on-duty call rotation, and overseeing the safety and well-being of the residents of Manor Hall. In his position, he hopes to continue being someone students can turn to for advice and guidance while working to further improve the experience and quality of dorm life at Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK. Emmett's strengths include conflict management, communication, and strong detail management. During the previous academic year, Emmett was awarded the Senior Leadership Award by the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Undergraduate Student Congress.
Outside of being an SAC, Emmett works as a lead sound designer and manager at Anne Simley Theater, as a tutor for the Center for Academic Success and Achievement, and as a staff member for Sundin Music Hall. When he is not working one of his jobs or busy doing schoolwork, Emmett enjoys spending time with friends, singing in the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK A Cappella Choir and Chamber Choir, dancing in the Â鶹ÊÓƵAPK Dance Ensemble, reading, and taking a good nap.
